Backtones go to Hollywood

Out of a field of over 1500 submitted films, 80 have been selected for screening at the 2008 Dances with Films Festival in LA. Among those "making the cut" is the music video created by Zenfilm for the Southern Backtones song "Forever".



The "Forever" music video has made a lot of waves since its completion in late 2007, exposing millions of viewers to these talented Houston recording artists....taking home a Gold Addy, a WorldFest Gold Remi and an AMA Crystal Award for the success of it's online marketing efforts...which resulted in the video being broadcast on MTV, MTV2 and Canada's Much Music Television Networks.


"Forever" will screen at Dances With Films later this month. Q&A will follow with director W. Ross Wells and Hank Schyma of The Southern Backtones. We will also be promoting Only in Houston, My Houston and The Houston Film Commission as part of our presentation. Screening time and location are:

Gold ADDY Winners!

Hey Everyone,

Tonight the Southern Backtones "Forever" Music Video played at the George R Brown Convention Center to the top couplathousand folks in the Houston advertising and media game.....and was awarded a Gold ADDY.

Anyway woo hoo... Congratulations to all of you on this big team win. The video will go on to compete at the regional ADDYs and if it wins there on to the Nationals....

Also.... Southern Backtones are #3 on the OurStage.com music video competition. If you have an hour to drop by http://www.OurStage.com and judge music videos, chances are the vid will come up and let you vote for it...not that it is doing bad on its own but every little bit helps...and the prize money could get the boys back in the studio or at least some new undies.....

The Houston Press has tallied up all the votes and the Backtones have won!

Houston is seeing an explogasm of talent these days namely Spain Colored Orange, Arthur Yoria, Tody Castillo, Million Year Dance, The Scattered Pages, Two Star Symphony, Penny Royal, Pale, Johnny Falstaff, The Medicine Show and of course the veteran John Evans. We're extremely happy to be part of this scene and look forward to spooning with Two Star Symphony. Thanx everyone for voting and packing the Mercury Room.
